Exciting Renovations at Fugitives’ Drift Lodge

Exciting news as the re-build of the main building at Fugitives’ Drift Lodge approaches.

From 9 May to 5 July 2017, we will be completely rebuilding the main lodge area at Fugitives’ Drift Lodge. The completed building will feature a new dining room with large covered deck area, new sitting room and office complex, and a fabulous new kitchen. The old sitting and dining room will become a museum and gathering area for the tour departures.  At the same time we are also building one more guest room, and renovating the swimming pool.

During the construction phase, the Guest House and Umzinyathi Farm House will be operating as normal.  Guests staying here will be totally unaffected by the construction at the Lodge.

We, and our guests are thrilled with both our renovated and brand new rooms.  All the rooms are now exactly the same – wooden decks, outside showers, fridge, and dressing table, endless and various plug points, air conditioning, huge walk in showers …..  The list goes on and on! The feedback we have had from guests has confirmed to us just how lovely they are!

While we are in renovating and building mode, we have decided to give the Guest House a face lift.

This has already started, and we are gutting and redoing the bathrooms, screeding the floors, decking the verandas and best of all …… a gorgeous day bed on each veranda! The perfect vantage point to see giraffe walking by, or just read a book.

We are very excited about the new and improved Lodge and Guest House.
